Assassin’s Creed

Altair starts leaping from rooftops on the PC. At last.

After a wait (which Xbox 360 owners did not have to endure) which was far too long, Ubisoft finally dropped the free-roaming assassin onto the PC. And about time too. While it was a slight surprise to finally play the title (being able to stab someone covertly in a crowd and walk away is far too much fun) we have got to say… impressed. On high-end systems the game looks pretty damn good, control is smooth on a keyboard but a little too spread out. Getting an Xbox controller may be a plan.

Sound? No one cares really what it sounds like but location and sound play a big part in dropping players into a more atmospheric world. Leaping over alleys will result in slight noise suddenly filtering up to the player.

Overall, Assassin’s Creed managed to drop a few jaws and has spawned at least one lunchtime addiction here in the PCF offices.
